1. The Board approved the Cooperative Agreement, dated December 20, 2002, for New York Pizza, Inc., t/a New York Pizza, 1401 Pennsylvania Ave., SE, Class CR. The Cooperative Agreement is between the licensee and Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B (ANC 6B). In the Cooperative Agreement, the licensee agreed: 1) to serve alcoholic beverages only with food purchased from the menu; 2) that the hours of sale and service of alcoholic beverages will be Monday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm; and 3) that the license does not allow live music or entertainment at the establishment. Additionally, ANC 6B stated its consent to the Applicant obtaining an outdoor patio extension to its license.
2. The Board approved the Cooperative Agreement, dated December 31, 2002, for Kia Enterprises Inc., t/a Alabama Grocery and Deli, 2209 Alabama Avenue, SE, Class B. The Cooperative Agreement is between the licensee, Advisory Neighborhood Commission 8B, Elaine West on behalf the Protestants, and also signed by Carrolle Smalls, a member of the group represented by Ms. West. In the Cooperative Agreement, the licensee agreed: 1) not to play music of any kind that can be heard from outside of the premises; 2) to insure that there is daily cleaning of the area in front and side of the premises; 3) to maintain for the duration of its license a contract with a licensed pest control service with the objective of eliminating pests and vermin in and around the premises; 4) not to allow patrons or other persons to loiter, or drink, or possess open containers of alcoholic beverages at the establishment; and 4) to contact the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) whenever necessary to prevent loitering, drinking, or the possession of open containers of alcoholic beverages at the establishment; to maintain a log of such calls to MPD; and to make the log available for inspection during normal business hours.
3. The Board extended for 90 days the safekeeping period for the license held by Hotel Harrington, 430 11th Street, NW, Class CH.
