Restaurant and Hotel Food Sales Quarterly Filing Requirements Are In Effect

Restaurant and hotel licensees have a responsibility under District of Columbia Official Code §§ 25-113(b)(2)(A) or 25-113(e)(4)(A) to file quarterly statements with ABRA.  The two-year grace period contained in DC Official Code § 25-101(43)(C) expired on September 30, 2006. Beginning on October 1, 2006, restaurants and hotels are now required to be in compliance with the District’s gross annual food sales requirements.  Please note -- this form was revised on December 12, 2006.

The quarterly statement form must be filed by the due dates listed below:

First Quarter:  October to December, 2006 Due:  January 31, 2007
Second Quarter:  January to March, 2007 Due:  April 30, 2007
Third Quarter:  April to June, 2007 Due:  July 31, 2007
Fourth Quarter:  July to September, 2007 Due:  October 31, 2007

Failure to file these reports by their due dates may result in criminal and/or civil penalties as set forth in the
District of Columbia Official Code §§ 25-831(b) and (d).
