ABC Board Will Hold Hearing on Penalties for Sales of Alcoholic Beverages to Minors Violations

(Washington, DC) The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (Board) announces a fact finding hearing to receive testimony on the effectiveness of the existing sale to minor penalties.  The Board requests that individuals wishing to testify address these issues: 

  • The preliminary conference process;
  • Minimum/maximum suspensions;
  • Minimum/maximum fines;
  • The benefits of existing penalties to the public;
  • The impact on the business community; and
  • The impact on the general community during suspensions.

The hearing will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 2:00 pm at 941 North Capitol Street, NE, 7th Floor, ABC Board Hearing Room, Washington, DC 20002.

 

Individuals who wish to testify should contact Cynthia Simms at (202) 442-4496 or via email by February 9, 2007.  Email contacts should include the full name, title, and affiliation – if applicable – of the person(s) testifying.  Witnesses should bring eight (8) copies of their written testimony to the Board.

 

If you are unable to testify and wish to comment, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  Copies of written statements should be submitted to Charles A. Burger, Chairman, Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, 941 North Capitol Street, NE, Suite 7200, Washington, D.C. 20002, no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, February 23, 2007.
