Volunteers Are Needed for the Asian and Pacific Islander Town Hall Meeting March 26 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library
(Washington, DC) The Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAPIA) announces that the District’s Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Town Hall meeting will be on March 26, 2007 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library on 901 G Street NW, Washington, DC 20001.
This will be the first town hall meeting focused on API issues in the District in Mayor Fenty’s administration. It will provide API residents and merchants an opportunity to discuss and provide recommendations to the Mayor.
OAPIA is expecting 250 community members who range from limited-English proficient seniors to university students and business owners. Therefore, OAPIA is seeking many volunteers, especially bilingual volunteers in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and Vietnamese:
To spread the word about the API town hall meeting, and
To help facilitate and take note for small group discussions
