District residents and visitors are invited to join Mayor Adrian Fenty on Wednesday May 28 at 6 pm at the Historical Society of Washington DC (801 K St. NW) to conclude the District’s month-long celebration of Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) Heritage Month.  The ceremony is free and open to the public.

Angie Goff from WUSA 9 will be the mistress of ceremony. Dana Tai Soon Burgess & Company, Silk Road Dance Company, and the Fairfax Chinese Dance Troupe will provide entertainment. Dr. Natwar Gandhi, the District’s Chief Financial Officer, will be the guest speaker for the event.

Mayor Fenty will also present his community service awards to outstanding individuals who have contributed greatly to the District’s Asian and Pacific Islander American community.
