On January 28th, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) in partnership with the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAPIA) held a book release event for their Doing Business in DC Guide Book - Asian language editions.
WDCEP’s Doing Business in DC Guide Book is a free, step-by-step manual to doing business in the District. It was previously only available in English and Spanish versions. However, the guide is now available in Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese because of OAPIA’s assistance. The guide’s Asian language editions mark the first time that the publication has expanded to address the Asian community, demonstrating the District’s commitment to inclusivity.
Local business owner, entrepreneurs, and community members attended this highly anticipated book release. The event also included brief remarks from Neil Albert, Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development Government of the District of Columbia, Susan Allen, National President & CEO, US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, Julie Koo, Director, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s Office on Asian & Pacific Islander Affairs, and Stanley Fujii, Assistant District Director, US Small Business Administration, DC Office.
Copies of the guide have been distributed to local universities, business resource providers, and foreign embassies. OAPIA also has a limited supply of Asian language guide books on-hand. If you would like a copy of the guide, please stop by OAPIA at 441 4th Street, NW Suite 721 North. You can also download the guide here.
