(Washington DC) The Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAPIA) and the Office of Planning (OP) held their 4th Chinatown Cultural Development Strategy (CCDS) Community Meeting on March 18, 2008 at the Chinatown Community Cultural Center.

At the community meeting, the CCDS planning team presented the draft strategy of the key priorities and action items for Chinatown. These priorities and action items were identified by Chinatown community task force members over the past two months. The planning team also shared their insights and recommendations on how the community can accomplish these action items to improve Chinatown. Over 75 community members provided feedback and insights at the meeting.

The draft strategy is available online in both English and Chinese language version. Please click on the links below for the drafts:

CCDS is a project that aims to provide strategies and build support to revitalize DC’s Chinatown and position it as the region’s top destination for Chinese/ Asian cultural businesses, programs, services, events and festivals.
