CFSA's new In-Home and Out-of-Home Practice Models make social worker-led teams the cornerstone of child welfare case management. This best practice regularly brings families together with multidisciplinary services professionals to confront issues and make decisions throughout the life of the case. The process uses client strengths as the basis for improving child safety, permanence, and well being.
CFSA implemented this approach last year with families receiving services in their homes. Beginning in October 2009, CFSA is extending the approach to cases of children and youth in foster care.
