The District of Columbia Truancy Taskforce’s Citywide Truancy Media Campaign

“The More You Learn, The More You Earn,” a city-wide truancy prevention media campaign, shines a light on the inspiring stories of five District students who, in some cases, reversed failing grades and chronic truancy to become students committed to excelling.  The campaign utilizes the real-life experiences of students and was launched at Anacostia, Ballou, and Cardozo Senior High Schools, where four of the students attend.

The media campaign targets middle-school and high-school students, as well as their parents.  The campaign includes radio commercials, transit advertisements, posters and other educational materials. These materials will be distributed to schools, libraries, local businesses and other community-based organizations, and are available in English and Spanish.
