Serve DC, The Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism, invites you to participate in the District of Columbia’s Global Youth Service Day (GYSD), April 24-26, 2009. GYSD is the largest service event in the world, engaging millions of young Americans and focusing national attention on the amazing leadership of young people. Serve DC has led the Global Youth Service Day celebration in DC for the past seven years.
Since its inception in the District of Columbia seven year ago, over 100,000 volunteers have been engaged in nearly 500 service projects! DC’s Global Youth Service Day is successful because of a strong coalition of community partners like you who coordinate youth-led service projects.
We encourage you to plan a service project that engages youth as volunteers, addresses an important youth-related issue, or is led by a youth. Serve DC is also offering up to $150 in Home Depot Gift Cards. The application for this mini-grant can be found on the Serve DC website on March 20. Please also extend this opportunity to your networks.
Register your projects here.
Thank you for your continued commitment to service! For more information, please contact Regina Moran or call (202) 727-0709.
