Volunteers Needed for Higher Achievement's After-school Program

Higher Achievement is looking for committed individuals to be mentors and study hall aides for motivated middle-school students in the DC Metro area.

The Commitment:
 
Mentors
What: Teach a small group of 5th and 6th graders in a core academic subject: Math, Literature, or Elective Seminar.
When: 6 - 8:15 pm (one night/week); Monday, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays.
 
Study Hall Aides
What: Work with a group of 5th-8th grade scholars to complete homework afterschool.
When: 3:30 - 6 pm (one afternoon/week); Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays.

Five locations in DC and Alexandria, VA:

  • DC (Adams Morgan): Oyster Adams Middle School
  • DC (Petworth): Brightwood Elementary School
  • DC (Capitol Hill): Ludlow-Taylor Elementary School
  • DC (Benning Road): Kelly Miller Middle School
  • Alexandria (Seminary Road): Hammond Middle School
  • Ward 8 Site Coming Soon!
