Serve DC Hosts Faith-based Emergency Preparedness Conference November 10, 2009

Serve DC – The Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism presents Prevent, Prepare, Protect:  Preventative Strategies for Faith-Based Communities on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 to engage leaders of faith groups in emergency preparedness efforts.

Prevent, Prepare, Protect is for leaders of faith groups to help them prepare themselves and those they serve before another emergency occurs in the region. The conference is completely FREE and will include complimentary breakfast and lunch. Faith organizations from all over the Greater Washington Metropolitan area are welcome to attend. Emergencies know no boundaries, as we found on 9/11.

Sessions include the formal emergency plan for the region, H1N1, emotional and pastoral care and much more.

Get further information or RSVP for this event online, or contact Jennifer Homes at jennifer.holmes@dc.gov.
