(Washington, DC) Serve DC, Executive Office of the Mayor, announces the availability of K-12 Learn and Serve America School-Based funds for grants up to $16,000.
Awards will be made to K-12 public schools and public charter schools in the District of Columbia to incorporate service-learning as an educational strategy in the classroom. This initiative will support a wide range of program activities that emphasize authentic youth engagement in their communities. Additionally, applicants must propose to implement service-learning projects that connect to one or more core curriculum standards.
Eligible applicants are K-12 public schools including public charter schools in partnership with at least one additional organization. Public school partners may include private/independent schools, for-profit businesses, institutions of higher education and other non-profits including faith-based organizations.
