Celebrate Neighbors Helping Neighbors Through 'Make a Difference Day'

Make a Difference Day is a national effort designed to mobilize citizens in communities across the country in volunteer service. Serve DC is partnering with the Earth Conservation Corps to create a celebration of citizens taking care of their own communities. Through an extensive watershed cleanup, Serve DC hopes to foster a spirit of sustainable volunteerism in various communities.

Make A Difference Day

  • What: Island Beautification
  • Where: Kingman Island
  • When: Saturday, October 28
  • Time: 8-11:30 am
               8-9 am registration/orientation/breakfast
               9-11am service
              11-11:30 am closing
  • Metro: Stadium-Armory (Blue/Orange lines). A shuttle bus will take participants to the site.
  • Details: A light breakfast will be served at kick-off.

All participants are to meet at parking lot 6 at RFK Stadium. Free parking is available at the stadium, and the closest
Metro stop is Stadium-Armory (Blue/Orange). Parking lot 6 is flanked by Oklahoma Avenue & Benning Road. In order to participate, a waiver* is required of every volunteer. For more information, please contact Regina Moran or call (202) 727-0709.
