The Child Support Services Division will grant AMNESTY to non-custodial parents from June 21-June 30 and July 19-July 30, 2010. If you owe TANF arrears to the government, then CSSD may forgive a portion or all of the TANF arrears depending on how much you pay towards your current support and/or arrears.
For an example: If you pay $500 towards your TANF arrears, CSSD may forgive $500 or more of the remaining balance on your arrears.
If you owe arrears to the custodial parent and a make payment towards those arrears, CSSD will not file a Motion for Contempt against you and the DC Superior Court will likely quash your child support-related bench warrant if one already exists.
Anyone wishing to take advantage of the AMNESTY program should come to our office at 441 4th Street NW, Suite 550 North, Washington, DC 20001, from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm, Monday to Friday during the dates listed above.
Please bring cashier's checks or money orders to make payments.
We look forward to working with you to resolve your child support issues.
