(Washington, DC)  The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities is pleased to announce new participants in the much-coveted FY 2007 UPSTART Program to support the development of small to mid-size arts organizations with budgets between $50,000 - $800,000.  Participants will take part in structured seminars, one-on-one coaching, and professional development opportunities. The nine organizations accepted in two cohorts for FY 2007 are:

Cohort A (Budgets between $200,000 to $800,000)

2. Cultural Development Corporation        
3. Northeast Performing Arts Group        
4. Theatre Downtown/Washington Stage Guild        
5. Young Playwrights Theatre

Cohort B (Budgets between $50,000 to $199,000)

1. Black Women's Playwrights
2. City Arts, Inc.
3. The In Series, Inc.
4. Words, Beats and Life, Inc.
