The Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. To commemorate this momentous occasion, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) is highlighting local arts activities happening in the District of Columbia.

The official theme for the 2009 inauguration is “Renewing America’s Promise,“ a vision that underscores the President-elect’s commitment to restoring opportunity and possibility for all and re-establishing America’s standing as a beacon of hope around the world. The arts events are a reflection of America’s fabric; whether it’s Quilts for Obama or artwork created in his honor.
