(Washington, DC)–From Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2 the Arts Commission will celebrate the vitality of folk and traditional dance in Washington and introduce dance lovers to distinctive and cultural diverse dance expressions. Venues around the city will be hubs of dance activity and feature free performances and interactive workshops in styles that will include flamenco, capoeira, Hip-Hop, hand dancing and bhangra. The three-day festival is free and open to the public.
“Every ethnic community has unique dance styles to express their joys and aspirations,” said Anthony Gittens, Executive Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. "Dance DC is a showcase of the incredible talent and diversity that surrounds us."
