As part of the District’s observance of National Preparedness Month (September), the DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) and the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District will cosponsor an emergency preparedness fair aimed at the downtown business community. The event will feature preparedness exhibits and displays, and tours of emergency response vehicles and command centers. Persons attending the fair will also have the opportunity to sign up with Alert DC to receive emergency text messages from HSEMA and talk to HSEMA staff about creating an emergency plan and an emergency kit.
