DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency Conducts Community Preparedness Exercises for Ward 4 Neighborhoods

The District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) will continue its series of community emergency preparedness exercises during March with two exercises for neighborhoods in Ward 4.

The exercises are scheduled for 5:30 pm, Wednesday March 4, at the Shepherd Park Library, 7420 Georgia Avenue, NW, and 3 pm, Friday, March 20, at  Emery Recreation Center, 5801 Georgia Avenue, NW. They are designed to help residents learn how to prepare themselves and their families for natural or man-made emergencies and disasters and will provide an opportunity for residents, community leaders and emergency officials to discuss how they would work together in the event of an emergency.

Residents of the following neighborhoods should plan to attend one of the sessions:

Barnaby Woods, Brightwood, Brightwood Park, Chevy Chase, Colonial Village, Crestwood, Fort Totten, Hawthorne, almond-Riggs, Manor Park, North Portal Estates, Petworth, Riggs Park, Shepherd Park, 16th Street Heights and Takoma.
