District residents will receive the most recent version of Be Ready DC: A Guide to Family Preparedness, the city’s flagship preparedness publication, in the bundled supplements included in home delivery copies of the May 17 edition of The Washington Post. Non-subscribers will receive the guide in the bundled supplements delivered in their U.S. mail on Friday, May 15.
The guide contains information about how citizens can prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters of all kinds— both natural and manmade. The guide tells citizens how to develop a family emergency plan, create an emergency kit and obtain information before and during an emergency. It also includes information about protective actions, key terms and a detachable magnet with important city telephone numbers.
Changes in this version of the guide include updated telephone numbers.
