On August 14, DC GIS Summer Youth interns toured the workings of GeoEye in Loudoun County, Virginia for their last educational field trip of the summer. GeoEye is a leading producer of satellite and aerial geospatial information, as well as the operator for Earth Imaging satellites. 

The interns were greeted with a presentation by Brian O'Toole, GeoEye's Chief Technology Officer, and continued the day visiting the satellite operations center where they learned how images are captured as they orbit the Earth.
