The Department of Public Works (DPW) removes approximately 106,000 tons of trash and more than 20,000 tons of recyclables from 110,000 single-family homes and small residential buildings, with no more than three living units, each year. Residential buildings with more than the living units do not receive trash and recycling collection services from the District. DPW is now using the District's Master Address Repository to verify locations in the city and identify trash and recycling pickup day(s).
Visit the new Trash and Recycling Pickup Day(s) website for importatnt details and to enter part or all of any address in the District of Columbia to find out the pickup day(s) for that location.
