The Office on Aging is soliciting qualified applicants to develop programs that enable District residents age 60 and older to enjoy safer, healthier and more independent lives in their own homes.
A total of $300,000 is available for funding ten or more grants not to exceed $15,000 each to plan and implement the senior village or other aging in place model in the District of Columbia. The successful applicant is required to provide a dollar for dollar match contribution for the grant amount requested.
In addition, the Request for Application (RFA)*is seeking organizations to develop these aging in place programs in each ward of the city to serve seniors in specific neighborhoods. The successful organization will be responsible for developing and implementing an operational plan that provides and connects senior residents in the neighborhood with a variety of services including: home maintenance, caregiver support, transportation assistance, medical escort, grocery delivery, household and personal chores, personal care, volunteer programs, concierge services, social services and other services to enable elderly residents to remain safely and independently in their homes.
Nonprofit organizations with places of business within the physical boundaries of the District of Columbia are eligible to apply.
