The DC Commission on Aging and the United Black Fund will team up for the Calvin W. Rolark Intergenerational poster Contest. District public/charter school students in grades 1 -12 may be eligible for cash prizes in three categories, elementary, middle/junior high school and high school.
The theme for the contest is "Youth and Senior Fire Safety in the Home." Entries may be submitted on 14 x 18 inch poster board or heavy paper and may use painting, drawing, photography, collage or any two-dimensional medium or combination of media. Entries will be judged on originality of design, artistic merit and proper use of language that depicts seniors postively.
Submissions should be delivered to the the DC Commission on Aging, 441 Fourth Street, NW, Suite 900 S, Washington, DC 20001, by May 7.
