Greater Washington Urban League, Aging Division is New Lead Agency for Ward 8

The Office on Aging announces that the Greater Washington Urban League, Aging Division, is the new lead agency for Ward 8.  The Office on Aging funds comprehensive service-delivery organizations and designates them “lead agencies.”  Lead agencies serve as the focal point for aging services in the community and are critical to the efficient functioning of the Office on Aging Senior Service Network. These agencies plan and deliver direct services to the District’s elderly residents and their caregivers.  All services for residents 60 years of age and older emanate from lead agencies.  Each ward has one or more lead agencies that provide services to seniors in the ward.

The Greater Washington Urban League is in the process of acquiring space in Ward 8 -- in the meantime, residents seeking senior services may contact them at (202) 529-8701.
