Open Enrollment for 2007 Benefits Begins November 13

The Annual Open Enrollment for Employee Benefits will take place November 13, 2006 through December 11, 2006. This is the only time you are able to make benefit elections, modify your coverage categories, and ensure your selections meet your unique requirements.

This year, eligible employees will have two options for electing benefits – using the new customized personal Enrollment Form or online by selecting Employee Self Service (please note: this link opens a page accessible only to DC government employees). Enrollment materials, including information on each health plan, will be sent to each employee’s home.

DC Public Schools employees can elect their benefits by selecting DCPS Employee Self Service (please note: this link opens a page accessible only to DCPS Employees).

During the Annual Open Enrollment period, all employees eligible to receive benefits can make the following changes:

  • Change health benefits plan for both Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) and District of Columbia Employee Health Benefits Program (DCEHBP)
  • Add dependents to health plans
  • Establish Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 2007
  • Enroll in Short Term Disability
  • Enroll in a new benefits program-Long Term Disability Insurance

By selecting carefully, employees could potentially save hundreds of dollars on healthcare and other expenses.

The DC Office of Personnel is hosting 27 different Health Fairs at agencies across city to assist you in determining the best benefit plan for you and your family. This will give you an opportunity to speak directly with plan providers. A complete list of the health fairs can be found in the back of the benefits booklet in your materials or online.

If you have any questions, please contact the DC Office of Personnel Benefits Office at (202) 442-9655 or visit the DCOP Employee Benefits Web site.
