Nearly 3,000 non-union Career Service and Wage Grade employees in the District of Columbia received a 3.25 percent pay increase in October as part of an ongoing effort to maintain salary levels of those offered to union employees. This was approved by City Council on October 1, 2007.
The FY 2008 increases cover non-union Career Service employees grades 14 and below and eligible Wage Grade employees. The increase continues on the pay parity efforts that began in 2006 and are equivalent to union increases for this fiscal year.
Increases are effective October 14 and employees will see the first increases in the paychecks for November 6 and November 9. The new FY 2008 Pay Schedules are posted on the DC Department of Human Resources website under Employee Compensation.
Other FY 2008 pay adjustments include:
- Non-Union Nurses receive a 3 percent increase
- Legal Services (Non-Supervisory LS) receive 4 percent increase
- Legal Services (Supervisory LX) pay structure increased 4 percent (LX1) or 2 percent (LX2, LX3)
