(Washington, DC) The DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) is proud to announce it will offer a new, expanded dental insurance benefit for employees and their families.
Employees will have the opportunity to select this new option during the 2008 Open Enrollment period beginning Monday, November 5, 2007 through Wednesday, December 12, 2007.
DCHR is requesting that all District employees review their benefit elections and personal information through the online Employee Self Service (ESS) system to ensure employee and dependent data is accurate. This is critical as DCHR works to ensure to best quality customer service and offer the best benefit options available to employees and their families.

By selecting your benefits carefully, employees could potentially save hundreds of dollars on healthcare and other expenses. This is the only time District employees are able to make most benefit elections, modify your coverage categories, and ensure your selections meet your unique requirements.
The new CIGNA Dental PPO lets employees and their dependents visit any licensed dentist in or out of its Preferred Provider network. The CIGNA Dental PPO covers most preventive procedures at a reasonable cost, or at no cost to you. Employees no longer have to file a claim form when visiting an in-network dentist. Referrals are no longer required to see a specialist.
Employees of the District of Columbia Public Schools, members of the Metropolitan Police Department in the Fraternal of Order Police Compensation Unit 3, Firefighters Union IAFF Local 36, Doctors Council of the District of Columbia Comp Unit 19, and Committee on Interns and Residents Comp Unit 29 are not eligible to receive this benefit.
