The DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) will host 17 Health Fairs during Open Enrollment Season for the 2009 plan year. The fairs, hosted in partnership with participating district government agencies, will be information packed events designed to give district government employees an opportunity to gather information directly from healthcare and financial services benefits providers that will enable them to make better informed decisions about their benefits coverage.

The Health Fairs will feature exhibits by nationally recognized healthcare and financial services providers answering benefits-related questions and dispensing information on ways to achieve physical and financial wellbeing. Providers such as Aetna, United Healthcare, FlexAmerica, ING, PNC, Washington Sports Clubs and the District of Columbia Employees Federal Credit Union are just a few of the vendors who will be on hand at the fairs. The fairs will even feature great prize giveaways and free massage therapy sessions. 

Open Enrollment Season is the only time during the year (with limited exceptions) that district government employees may make certain benefit plan changes and/or enroll in new benefits plans for the 2009 plan year.
