Rental Housing Conversion and Sale Act Task Force Holds Public Hearing

(Washington, DC) The Rental Housing Conversion and Sale Act Task Force seeks public comments as it prepares its report, which includes a review of the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA), as required under DC law 16-15, the Rental Housing Conversion and Sale Amendment Act of 2005*.

The task force held public hearings between April and June of this year. Based on feedback from the tenant community and housing providers, the task force developed recommendations to clarify and strengthen the legislation regarding the sale of rental housing.
