(Washington, DC) The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) today announced that it has successfully resolved a zoning dispute with 1617 35th Street Associates, LLC; the Apostles of Peace and Unity, Inc., and the owner and resident of 1617 35th Street, NW.
Among the terms agreed upon are:
- No more than six unrelated individuals will live at the residence beginning at 12 pm on December 22.
- DCRA inspectors will perform a compliance inspection on December 22.
- DCRA will have a right of entry to inspect the property up to and including June 15, 2008 to ensure ongoing compliance. If 1617 35th Street Associates, LLC / Apostles of Peace and Unity, Inc. fails to meet the terms of the agreement, DCRA will have the right to re-issue the Notices of Infraction and to pursue other remedies to the full extent of the law.
In addition:
- 1617 35th Street Associates, LLC / Apostles of Peace and Unity, Inc. has provided DCRA with a list of residents residing at 1617 35th Street, NW. They have also provided the names and addresses of current residents who will no longer live at the property after noon on December 22.
- 1617 35th Street Associates, LLC / Apostles of Peace and Unity, Inc. has paid $6,000 to the District.
