(Washington, DC) - The DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) is encouraging DC Residents to get a free brake safety inspection during Brake Safety Awareness Week August 24 – 30, 2008.
Participating retailers aim to teach local drivers about proper brake system safety and maintenance.
Drivers can take advantage of free brake safety awareness inspections at four DC locations during regular business hours.
The free brake safety awareness inspections will offer motorists a free check of the depth of their pads and linings plus an opportunity to learn proper brake system care and vehicle maintenance.
“Research shows local residents do not know enough about proper brake system care,” said Bob Harris, Manager of DCRA’s Office of Consumer Protection. “This free tire care event will help drivers become more aware of the importance of checking their tires.”
DCRA welcomes all drivers to learn first hand about proper brake system and vehicle care. Furthermore, consumers can maximize their vehicle safety awareness, achieve better fuel economy and get the best performance from their brake systems.
