On May 15, 2005, the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs mailed renewal notices for elevator certificates which expired on June 30, 2005. Given the large volume of applicants who decided to renew the certificates during the last week of the period, along with the new requirement that elevator inspection reports be submitted with the payment, the Department is extending the renewal period until close of business on Friday, July 29, 2005.
All renewal applications must be accompanied by an inspection report dated within the previous 6 months. Failure to submit the inspection report, along with other required documents and payment, will be cause to return the documents and payments. If proper submission of the required documents and payment is not received by Friday, July 29, 2005, you will be considered delinquent and subject to late penalties of $150.00. Your renewal application must be postmarked on or before July 29, 2005.
