(Washington, DC) As winter approaches, many consumers take the time to prepare their cars for cold weather. Oil changes, brake repair and other items often need to be addressed. The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) would like to remind District residents to be savvy consumers when dealing with auto repair shops.
Before having any work done on a car, consumers should check with the auto repair shop to see if it has a valid Basic Business License. Doing business with a licensed repair shop provides you, the consumer, with specific protections. You can also check business license information online or by calling (202) 442-4400.
