Parking Restrictions, Street Closures in Effect Saturday for Howard University Commencement

(Washington, DC) Be advised that District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has posted “Emergency No Parking” signs in neighborhoods around Howard University in preparation for this weekend’s commencement ceremonies featuring guest speaker Oprah Winfrey.

The following parking restrictions are in effect from 5 am to 7 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2007.

The below streets will be closed during these periods, as well:

  • 2100–2700 blocks of 6th Street, NW
  • 600 block of Howard Street, NW
  • 600 block of Fairmont Street, NW
  • 300–600 blocks of College Street, NW
  • 600 block of Girard Street, NW
