(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Department of Public Works (DPW) are holding a kick-off rally for members of the District Snow Team today.

This event provides an opportunity for team members to meet shift partners, network with snow team members and rally together prior to the upcoming 2007-2008 snow season. DDOT and DPW will take this opportunity to thank frontline workers for their dedication to the District and its residents during the upcoming winter weather season.

Prior to the kick-off the snow team conducted a simulated dry run as a means to test the current deployment plan. Evaluations of the dry run will allow the team to assess any outstanding issues in preparation of a real snow or ice storm in the District.
