(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is running extended service on the DC Circulator to help fans get home from the Nationals Ballpark this season. Buses on the new Union Station-Navy Yard Metro route will run until midnight when the Nationals have a late afternoon or evening game. That includes today’s home opener against the Phillies.

“Transit is still the best way for fans to get to and from the ballpark,” said DDOT Director Gabe Klein, “and now they have another choice: the Circulator. Plus, they can stop along the way at some of the great restaurants and other establishments on Capitol Hill or Barracks Row, and then hop back on the bus.”

Known for its convenient 10-minute headways, the Circulator costs one dollar a ride, with additional discounts for seniors and District students. Service on the Union Station-Navy Yard Metro route started on Monday, March 30. More information about the route and schedule is available at www.dccirculator.com.

DDOT will also deploy more Traffic Control Officers to assist with traffic before and after baseball games this year. Many other aspects of the stadium transportation and parking plan implemented last season will remain in effect, with a few minor changes. That plan incorporates both transportation alternatives to and from the stadium–including free bike valet parking–as well as an enhanced Residential Parking Program (RPP) zone to protect the adjoining neighborhoods from being inundated with fans looking for street parking on game days.
