(Washington, DC) Emeka Moneme, Director of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), is pleased to announce that DDOT today began inviting District residents and others to sign up for “DDOT News” alerts.
The e-mail alerts feature almost-daily notifications about roadway construction, special events, DDOT news items and other helpful information.
“For several years we’ve been quietly building a word-of-mouth list of 3,000 District residents and others who receive these helpful emails,” said Moneme. “Now, anyone can visit our web site and sign up for our news alerts. We’ve received fantastic feedback from people who receive the emails—reporting to us that they find the information very valuable.”
Moneme added: “One of our goals is for residents and others to be ‘active’ motorists and travelers instead of passive. The more you know and plan ahead, the more likely it is we can reduce congestion on District roadways.”
Those who sign up receive emails on a periodic basis to help them become better informed about transportation-related issues. DDOT’s goal is to keep motorists alert about roadway construction across the District and help residents and visitors avoid delays.
For the first time, users can sign up to receive DDOT News emails on the agency’s Web site: www.ddot.dc.gov
