WASHINGTON, DC — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announces the return of Bike DC on Saturday, September 27. This popular community bike ride is open to cyclists of all ages and skill levels. It’s a ride, not a race, which allows participants to fully appreciate the adventure of cycling on car-free city streets in a non-competitive environment.

The 17 mile ride begins and ends on Pennsylvania Avenue and the route weaves through many of DC’s historic neighborhoods and passes iconic symbols of the District, including the White House and the US Capitol. Riders will also explore some of Washington's lesser known treasures like the Twin Oaks estate near the National Cathedral and the newly opened Anacostia River Trail by RFK Stadium.
