(Washington, DC) Bike to Work Day will be held this year on Friday May 19, from 8 am-9 am at Freedom Plaza, and we are looking to you to join the DDOT Team. Those of us who work at the Reeves Center are planning to meet at Freedom Plaza and bike together, at the conclusion of the event, up 14th Street at 9 am to go to work. Others can lead groups to their own offices.
To sign up for Bike to Work Day, and get a free t-shirt at Freedom Plaza, see the Washington Area Bicyclist Association's website. Registration is free. By registering, you also get a chance to win a bike and other prizes. The website also contains information about the many convoys heading to Freedom Plaza from neighborhoods in DC and the suburbs.
If you are not interested in riding, but want to come out and support the DDOT team, meet us at Freedom Plaza for the food and fun.
There will be food and coffee and speeches by important people including DDOT Acting Director Michelle Pourciau, who will be leading the DDOT team.
So come on out and join in the fun and exercise. If you have any further questions, please contact Jim Sebastian, DDOT's Manager for Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Transportation Demand Management Programs.
