(Washington, DC) As part of GreenDC Week, the District Department of Transportation will complete the conversion of the city’s traffic lights from incandescent traffic bulbs to energy-efficient LED (light emitting diode) technology. LEDs, which use 90 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs, have been installed at 1,546 signalized intersections.
