DDOT Seeks to Reduce Congestion in Adams Morgan

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is testing a new parking system to reduce weekend traffic congestion in Adams Morgan. The west side of 18th Street from Columbia Road to Kalorama Road is now posted "No Parking, Tow Away, 9 pm to 3 am, Friday and Saturday." This system will allow drop-off and pick-up at the curb to reduce traffic congestion on southbound 18th Street in the heart of Adams Morgan.

After allowing for traffic to adjust, DDOT will gather data to determine the effect the change has on congestion and pedestrian safety.

The ban is scheduled to sunset on September 30, 2005.
