(Washington, DC) The DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) today published a Request For Proposals (RFP) for firms interested in operating bus shelters throughout the District. The bus shelters will be designed, installed and maintained without cost to the District with a franchise fee paid to the city for transportation improvements.
The proposals will be evaluated on advertising and revenue to the District, product design and manufacturing, operation and maintenance, and qualifications and experience of the responder. The RFP contemplates an agreement for a base period of ten years with a ten-year option. The contractor will develop site plans for the shelters, including lighting schemes and improved transit information and maintenance.
The RFP (Bid Advertisement – Open Market, Invitation No.: POKA-2004-R-0001-CB) is available for $50 per copy at Reeves Municipal Center, 2000 14th Street, NW, 3rd Floor Bid Room, Washington, DC 20009. Proposals are due by 2 pm, April 8, 2004.
