The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announces three public open houses on the future of the Whitehurst Freeway. The content, which will be the same each evening, will focus on DDOT’s continuing study of alternatives, including a number suggested during the design workshops held in the spring as well as others based on research conducted over the summer.

The alternatives take into account engineering requirements, traffic and land value impacts, waterfront and pedestrian access and other potential effects of modifying or removing the Whitehurst Freeway. DDOT staff will be on hand at these informal meetings for one-on-one discussions. All comments and suggestions are welcome.
