Mayor Williams Spotlights Plan to Relieve Congestion on Sousa Bridge

(Washington, DC) Mayor Anthony A. Williams will spotlight the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) plan to relieve traffic congestion on the Sousa Bridge, by diverting traffic and congestion from local streets to the interstate/regional network.

The East Washington Traffic Relief Program* calls for building new ramps on the 11th Street Bridge in Anacostia to allow traffic to flow between the Southeast Freeway and northbound Kenilworth Ave/DC-295 and relieve congestion on Pennsylvania Avenue and the Sousa Bridge in southeast.
