DDOT and DMV Announce New RPP Blocks Near RFK Stadium

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announce that residents on newly designated Residential Permit Parking (RPP) blocks in the vicinity of RFK Stadium must obtain new vehicle registration stickers with RPP designations before July 15, 2005.

As part of the Revised RFK Parking Policy, blocks within the enhanced enforcement area not designated as RPP blocks will soon gain RPP status. DDOT crews are currently in the process of erecting new RPP and “No Parking During Stadium Events” signs on these blocks. The enhanced enforcement zone (see map*) falls within the following boundaries: for Capitol Hill, Maryland Avenue and Benning Road, NE, the Anacostia River, Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, and 13th Street, SE/NE; for River Terrace, East Capitol Street, Kenilworth Avenue, Benning Road (all NE) and the Anacostia River. Please note that blocks in the River Terrace neighborhood will not receive RPP status at this time, and residents of River Terrace do not currently need to obtain RPP stickers. MPD management of the area will continue as before.

Residents that own motor vehicle(s) and live on blocks previously not designated as RPP blocks are required to obtain their RPP permits from the DMV. If your vehicle registration is valid for at least 60 days and your address has not changed, you can request RPP online. DMV will prorate the $15 RPP fee, based upon the expiration date of the vehicle registration.
