Wisconsin Avenue Repaving Completes the Georgetown Project

Major work on The Georgetown Project was completed on Friday night, June 17, with the repaving of the last stretch of Wisconsin Avenue from P to R Street.
 
Started in October 2001, The Georgetown Project is the coordinated replacement of the underground utility infrastructure and upgrading of the streetscape from Key Bridge to Pennsylvania Avenue on M Street, and from K Street to R Street on Wisconsin Avenue. It is a joint effort of Pepco, Verizon, Washington Gas, the DC Water and Sewer Authority and DDOT. By coordinating construction activities, including working at night and adjusting traffic controls, the impacts of the
