DDOT to Hold Public Meeting About the Extension of Minnesota Avenue

(Washington, DC) The District of Columbia, Department of Transportation (DDOT) is holding the third in a series of public meetings to provide project information about a potential extension of Minnesota Avenue.

The purpose of this meeting is to present the Environmental Assessment (EA) that examines the feasibility of extending Minnesota Avenue, NE from Sheriff Road, NE to Meade Street, NE.  The meeting is scheduled for:

Tuesday, August 28, 2007
Between 6:00 and 8:00 PM
First Baptist Church of Deanwood
1008 45th Street, NE

Residents can review the EA at the following locations:

  • District Department of Transportation Office, Transportation Policy & Planning Administration,
    located at 2000 14th Street, NW, 7th Floor
  • Langston Community Library, 2600 Benning Road, NE
  • 6th District Police Station, 100 42nd Street, NE
  • Marshall Heights Community Development Organization – Lloyd D. Smith Center (Admin Office),
    3939 Benning Road, NE
  • Deanwood Kiosk, 4215 Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave. NE
  • Benning Interim Library, 4101 Benning Road, NE

The Minnesota Avenue Extension EA is also on-line.  The EA will be publicly available for a 30-day review period.  Comments must be submitted to the address for Ronald Mitchell noted below by September 13, 2007 to be included in the official record.  In accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and its implementing regulations at 36 CFR Part 800, information concerning the  potential effects of the proposed improvements on properties listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places will be available.
