WMATA Announces Proposed Fare Increase

(Washington, DC) The Board of Directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has approved a series of public hearings on a proposed fare increase that could potentially take effect as early as January 6, 2008.

The purpose of these public hearings is to provide information and to obtain comments from the public.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) encourages residents across the District of Columbia to participate in these important hearings.

The two public hearings that will be held in the District of Columbia will be at:
